Following the completion of the Soundscape Project, my end goal was to form an environment of eerie displacement stemming from familiarity. I figured I could accomplish this by utilizing the provided sounds to create a setting of a person discontent with their life, smoking weed. As the idea matured, I decided to imply the subject's unhappiness by exploring themes of being distant from other people, whether that be direct disconnection with society, or simply self-exile from their peers.
Note that the subject is heard to be watching a vlog of a sports event alone. Initially I hoped to have the setting be as though they're at the event, then reveal it to being a recorded video. Omitting this, I opted for a setting in a dorm, with neighbors chatting on the other side of a wall. The final soundscape resulted in the individual subject stopping the video, smoking weed, feeling lonely, and then heading outside in search of a companionship be it at a party or dining hall. While walking, I added the element of a overpowering chime to dominate the personal environment and become the emphasis of the weed itself affecting the audience's auditory senses. As result of the irritant, the lonely audience returns to their room to resume the video and smoke again. This time, the emotionally unstable and influenced audience hears the dog from outside, and reaches in their bag, and then soundscape ends to leave the audience to interpret what they went into their bag for.
