For the Daydream animation video, it didn't quite pan out the way I had intended. I neglected my animation to prioritize other coursework, and it suffered. My initial vision was to utilize existing Anime art styles and characters, having the main character transition into one, have them stare at a mirror, then the MC's face would melt and change art styles. I also wanted to animate a specific scene where a given character reenacts a scene from the show I pulled them from, chasing a mosquito at the speed of light. The project was to have a conversation with oneself (Refer To CalebCity on Youtube), then for humor, lead the audience into believing the psychosis transition will be result of bad coffee only to instead transition through the passage of a closet door, like Narnia.
This was meant to just be anime style exploration space. Following this adventure, the discovery of MC's reflection addresses the psychosis and identity. The MC pauses to calm down, while the audience focusses on the eyes. The eyes melt yet again to transition art styles, ending with the MC in real life. When the MC's friend calls to him from offscreen, the MC will then avert his eyes away from the mirror(the audience). Upon blinking again, the screen will darken completely at the same rate the MC closes their eyes. I also wanted to include subtle jokes with characters such as Kick Buttowski, or rapidly changing wardrobes of characters. In reality, many scenes were unfinished.
